| Duties and Responsibilities |
- Responsible for design, development, and sustaining of embedded software services for telecommunications equipment integrating SONET/SDH, DCS, Ethernet, and MPLS technologies; specifically, responsible for Data Plane chip drivers, SONET/SDH services’ and protection schemes’ implementation.
- Produce high quality high-level and low-level design of new features.
- Develop and maintain new code implementation.
- Execute unit test of software features, including design and implementation of unit test drivers.
- Participate in execution of cross-functional feature tests.
- Maintain and sustain existing code base.
- Provide accurate schedule estimates for planned tasks.

| Qualifications |
- Requires MS degree with 5+ years experience in telecommunications industry.
- Excellent working knowledge of C/C++ in embedded environment.
- Desirable experience with VxWorks on PowerPC, GNU tools on Solaris, ClearCase.
- Candidate must have strong knowledge in carrier grade implementation of SONET/SDH and DCS Networking.
- Desirable prior experience in protection schemes’ implementation, incl. BLSR/MSPRing, UPSR/SNCP, Linear, etc.
- Desirable hands-on experience with implementations of 4-fiber BLSR.
- Good organizational skills and working habits
- Excellent communication and team integration.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Prefer experience with major telecommunications provider in research and development organization.
