Turin Networks Appoints New Senior Executives

Experienced Industry Veterans Strengthen the Leadership
Team and Manage Company's Tremendous Growth

PETALUMA, CA, Nov. 16th, 2004
- Turin Networks, a leading developer and supplier of multiservice transport switching platforms for telecommunications carriers worldwide, today announced the appointment of telecom industry veteran Henry Wasik as the company's new president and chief executive officer (CEO). John Webley, Turin founder and former president and CEO, has been named chairman of the board of directors, and has also been appointed to the newly created position of chief marketing officer (CMO). In his new role, Webley will direct product strategy definition, lifecycle management and marketing activities for Turin.

"Over the past year we have experienced tremendous success, including doubling our customer base to more than 120 telecommunications carriers worldwide and signing a new strategic partner" said Webley. "We look forward to Henry's strong leadership, business development, and operational experience to help manage the company's rapid expansion and guide the company to the next level."

Henry joins Turin Networks from Alcatel, where he served as senior vice president of the Voice Networks/Applications Software and Solutions businesses. In this role he had global product line responsibility with multiple R&D and support teams worldwide - an operation with more than $700 million in revenues in 2003 and over 1,000 employees. In Henry's more than 20 years of experience in the communications industry, he has played key roles in startup companies such as Mostek and InteCom, as well as larger players such as DSC Communications and then Alcatel. He has successfully led teams to introduce new products for the global telecom industry including softswitches, STPs, HLRs, and other telecom software and access infrastructure products. Henry holds an MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (summa cum laude) from the University of Bridgeport.

"I am truly impressed with the solid, industry-proven design of Turin's Traverse products, the diversity and depth of their customer base, and the company's talented team of employees" said Wasik. "Turin is poised for even greater success in the future as major carriers worldwide look to expand and enhance their metro optical networks with new service offerings, and I'm excited to have the opportunity to help build Turin into a world-class company."

Separately, Turin has also named Dan Steimle to the position of chief financial officer (CFO). Steimle was formerly CFO of Advanced Fibre Communications (AFC), which he guided to a successful IPO in 1996. As Turin's CFO, Dan will strengthen the company's relationships with investors, as well as provide the rigorous financial management that is required to build an industry-leading networking systems company.
